Our newly developed Stair Counter motivates people to take the stairs more often, which is obviously much healthier for humans than taking the elevator. The stair counter uses a motion sensor, measuring how many times a day the stair is in use.
The results are displayed on a screen. For example, the screen depicts Mount Everest. The common goal is to get to the top of this highest mountain in the world as quickly as possible.
By placing the pedal counter in different locations, there can be a mutual battle to see which department is fastest at the top. Each location can be followed through its own Internet page.
Achmea is deploying the stair counter at all their work locations over the next 5 months, and the challenge between these locations has already begun.
